Munster Construction is currently on site on Riverwood, a new housing development in Thurles, Co Tipperary. The development consists of 127 homes and is a mix of duplexes, two-, three- and four-bedroom homes.
Site manager Peadar O’Toole worked with Wavin technical representative Patrick Corrigan to select Wavin’s Sewer range on the development. Products used include WAJ’s, Wavin Tegra 600 and Wavin Sewer.
Speaking about his choice, Peadar said, “I decided early on in the project to use the Wavin Sewer range, and, on consultation with our Wavin representative, we made our selection and then worked with Uisce Éireann’s engineers for approval. We’ve been happy with the products themselves, which we knew would be Uisce Éireann-compliant, and the ease of installation.
“Wavin has been on hand with any technical help we’ve needed, and, overall, the whole process has been very straightforward.”

Newly Launched – Tegra 600
Wavin has built on 40 years of inspection chamber expertise with an enhanced Tegra 600 range. Certified to EN13598-2 and compliant with Irish Building Regulations Part H and Uisce Éireann requirements, the updated system offers a specification-ready, long-lasting solution for wastewater projects.
The range now includes seven flow profiles and 27 base variants, supporting 110mm to 315mm connections to give installers greater flexibility across varied site conditions. Key upgrades include a patented ball socket design offering 10° movement in all directions, improving tolerance for on-site misalignment and a chamfered, easy push fit shaft socket that reduces installation force and speeds up assembly. With a 100 year design life, the enhanced Tegra 600 delivers a durable, contractor friendly option for modern wastewater networks.
The number one access junction
Wavin’s Access Junction (WAJ) has been Irish contractors no-1 choice for the past 45 years. Independently certified, it’s available in 10 flow profiles and complete with Wafix seals, a triple-layer captive seal, so you know that when a pipe is in, it’s in. The socket profile allows a high angle of deflection so there is more connection flexibility. There are also extras such as directional flow arrows to reduce the risk of installation errors.
Wavin sewer
Wavin’s PVC-U below-ground drainage system offers a comprehensive range in 110mm, 160mm, 244mm, 315mm, 400mm and 500mm sizes for gravity drainage and sewer installations. Fittings with a green seal feature RootSeal technology, which harmlessly repels tree roots to help prevent damage to the pipe system.
