Vision Contracting has completed Globe Logistics Park in Naas, Co Kildare, for Red Rock Logistics. The flagship 191,092-sq ft. development has achieved the prestigious LEED Gold certification. Acting as the Design & Build main contractor, Vision Contracting managed complex civil engineering and infrastructure upgrades to create a high-performance industrial hub that sets a new benchmark for quality and operational efficiency.
Delivered by Vision Contracting for Red Rock Logistics, Globe Logistics Park in Naas, Co Kildare, achieved the prestigious LEED Gold certification. Spanning approximately 17,753 sq metres (191,092 sq feet) across two detached units, Globe Logistics Park demonstrates that large-scale industrial infrastructure can be delivered with high efficiency, minimal environmental impact, and superior long-term operational performance.
Strategic location and infrastructure integration
Situated on the north side of Monread Road, the development occupies a prime position within one of Ireland’s most critical logistics corridors. Its proximity to Junction 9 on the M7 motorway provides unparalleled connectivity to Dublin, Cork, and Limerick, making it a vital hub for national supply chains.
However, the construction of the park involved far more than the erection of two warehouses. Vision Contracting, acting as the Design & Build main contractor, undertook significant civil engineering works to integrate the park into the existing urban and industrial fabric. This included a major road infrastructure upgrade, specifically the widening of Monread Road. By creating dedicated access and egress lanes, the project ensures that the anticipated high volume of heavy goods vehicle (HGV) traffic can be managed safely without compromising the local road network’s capacity. These works were essential to future-proof the site’s accessibility and were executed while maintaining traffic flow on one of Naas’s busiest arterial routes.

Green credentials: The path to LEED Gold
The defining characteristic of Globe Logistics Park is its commitment to sustainability. At a time when Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria are paramount for institutional investors and global tenants, achieving LEED Gold certification was a non-negotiable objective from the project’s inception.
Energy Efficiency and Renewable Generation
Vision Contracting implemented a “Fabric First” approach to ensure the buildings’ thermal envelopes exceeded standard building regulations. By utilising high-performance cladding and advanced glazing systems, the project significantly reduces the energy required for heating and cooling. Internally, the use of low-energy LED lighting with motion and daylight sensors further optimises energy consumption.

Offsite fabrication
Key structural components were fabricated off site where possible. By manufacturing these components off site, the project team could achieve tighter tolerances, directly contributing to the buildings’ exceptional airtightness—a key metric for energy efficiency.
Delivering within a live industrial environment
And if the challenges listed above were not enough for the Vision Contracting team, the project was located adjacent to existing, operational logistics facilities, just off the M7 motorway on the outskirts of Naas. So delivering this major construction project in a live environment required meticulous planning and a proactive approach to safety and logistics.
With constant HGV movements from neighbouring businesses, managing the arrival of construction plant and materials was complex. Vision Contracting implemented a robust traffic management plan that segregated construction traffic from public and industrial traffic. This included dedicated access routes and timed deliveries to avoid peak operational hours for the surrounding businesses.
Stakeholder engagement and PSCS role
As the Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS), Vision Contracting was responsible for the health and safety of everyone on site and for protecting the public. This required constant communication with local authorities, businesses, and road users. Phased sequencing of the works ensured that the widening of Monread Road and the utility connections were carried out with minimal disruption to the existing infrastructure.

Sustainable commuting and social impact
The project addresses the “Social” aspect of ESG by encouraging sustainable travel for the future workforce. The park features a high number of electric vehicle (EV) charging points to support the transition to low-carbon transport. Furthermore, ample secure bicycle parking and shower facilities were included in the design to encourage staff to commute via active travel modes.
By locating the park within reach of Naas town centre and local transport links, the development supports local employment while minimising the carbon footprint associated with commuting.
A model for the future of Irish logistics
Completed in late September 2025, Globe Logistics Park stands as a testament to what can be achieved through a collaborative Design & Build approach. By integrating MMC, renewable energy, and biodiversity measures, Vision Contracting and Red Rock Logistics have created an asset that is both environmentally responsible and commercially viable.
Speaking about the project, David Carroll of Red Rock Logistics stated, “It was a pleasure working with Vision Contracting and their Design Team to bring our vision for Globe Logistics Park to life. Their early engagement was instrumental in transforming an underutilised landholding into a modern logistics park delivered efficiently on budget and on programme.”
Vision Contracting Director Colm Fehily is also delighted with the outcome of the project. He commented, “The goal from the outset was to transform this strategic site into a future-proofed industrial hub for our valued client Red Rock Logistics. Managing the construction within a live environment while coordinating offsite fabrication and sustainable drainage systems while seamlessly integrating major infrastructure upgrades required meticulous planning and coordination by our site team and design consultants. We are proud to have delivered Unit A1 and A2 on programme and on budget, while achieving LEED Gold & BER A2.”

In conclusion
For the construction industry, this project serves as a blueprint. It proves that the “logistics sheds” of the past can be transformed into high-performance, green-certified assets that meet the world’s most stringent sustainability standards. As Ireland continues to expand its logistics capacity to meet the needs of a globalised economy, the Globe Logistics Park will remain a benchmark for quality, innovation, and environmental integrity.
