Limerick-headquartered Kirby Group Engineering is doubling its South African workforce by opening a second office in Cape Town’s northern suburbs.

The company is creating 50 new jobs, bringing its total headcount in the country to over 110 employees. Recruitment is open across several disciplines, including Mechanical, Electrical, MEP, Commissioning, and Structural Engineering.

First established in South Africa in 2023, the firm’s growth highlights strong local opportunities. Executive Chairman Jimmy Kirby emphasised that the expansion reflects confidence in the region’s skilled talent pool.

To nurture future engineering talent, Kirby collaborates with institutions such as the University of Pretoria and the University of Cape Town through scholarships, sponsorships, and graduate development programmes.

Founded in 1964, Kirby now employs over 1,900 people globally across Ireland, the UK, Europe, the Nordics and South Africa.
