Water and wastewater engineering specialist Glanua has opened its first US office in Radnor, Pennsylvania, targeting North America’s booming life sciences and advanced manufacturing sectors. The office, near Philadelphia, marks a major international milestone for the Galway-headquartered contractor, expanding operations beyond Ireland, the UK and continental Europe.

The US business will focus on engineering and designing specialist treatment systems for pharmaceutical, life sciences and food manufacturing facilities, with plans for a North American workforce of over 200 personnel. Chemical engineer Mark McKeever has been appointed US operations director to head the rollout, drawing on Glanua’s European design-build, modular construction and plant-operation experience.

Karl Zimmerer, Group Managing Director, said: “The scale of US investment in pharmaceutical and advanced manufacturing is creating strong demand for specialist water engineering expertise. Our practical experience allows us to develop solutions that reduce delivery and operational risk for clients.”
