Gem has completed a wide-ranging portfolio of projects for blue-chip clients. It has accumulated extensive experience in all sectors, including the design and build of residential/student accommodation, education, public, commercial, science, health and retail projects.

Gem Group projects

Over the past 20 years, Gem Construction has delivered 2,388 homes, building over 300 homes in the past year [2020] alone. Most recently, Gem has delivered some landmark projects, with the completion of executive residential homes on Shrewsbury Road and a prestigious development of 69 apartments above basement car parking and newly developed park and playground area at the Knockrabo development in Goatstown, Dublin. Gem continues working on several notable housing developments. In the healthcare sector, Gem also completed the rapid-build of a Covid-19 test centre in Mullingar, Co Westmeath, to enable the HSE continue the ongoing fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. The building itself was designed in house, and works on site were fast-tracked and completed within six weeks. Gem operates an integrated management system, which is accredited to ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001.

Corporate social responsibility

Gem is very proud of the enormous health and safety efforts made by its teams since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. In this time, it has focused on the wellbeing of all its workers, having open discussions around mental health, and providing everyone in a Gem workplace with a help book, A Friend in a Difficult Time. Its direct teams, subcontractors and supply chain also collectively raised over €53,000 for Pieta House.
